Personally, I haven’t always been the biggest fan of seafood. It’s true. I became more adventurous and discovered my love for it when I started working in seafood restaurants six years ago. It gave me the opportunity to try things for free. No pressure, no price- I found out what I liked and what I didn’t. Oysters, for one- were always on the fence for me. They just remind me of big boogers, texture wise. I do enjoy the way they taste, though. Getting over my pre-conceived food issues has been a struggle, but very interesting. Joe has been completely supportive of it, mainly because if I don’t like anything, he’ll eat it! So I don’t feel wasteful.
One night, we were feeling rather adventurous and had heard a bunch of friends talking about the copious amount of Oysters on the half they had eaten, and how it made them feel. You know what I’m talking about! We were curious, and bored. Joe ran right out to Union Market, came home and shucked those bad boys. Forget the myth, seeing my man put his Seafood Market skills to use is a turn on in itself (especially in my kitchen gloves! he he)
